What is Studio @ 55?
Well, first and foremost, it is my studio. If you would like to see examples of my work, please visit my website.
Apart from sculptural work for exhibitions and commissions, I provide courses in clay modelling, soapstone carving and plaster and wire. For the first time this year in the run up to Christmas, I’m offering a course in lino cut. People can make their own cards using any image they like.
My groups are small so that I can provide individual attention.
I just thought it’s been a tough year for everyone but it’s also been a time where lots of people have rediscovered a love of making things and working with their hands, a practice that can be grounding, mindful and reassuring. Something I think we all need right now.
Who am I?
I’m Esther Cecilia Boehm, a German Canadian artist and I hail from Edmonton, Canada, but being a bit of a nomad I’ve lived in several countries so it was no surprise to me that I ended up here. I guess I could have ended up anywhere in the UK but about five years ago I first visited Heacham to stay with a friend and fell in love with the area and with Norfolk.
